iBuying is over for Zillow, but ‘Zestimate’ still frustrates local agents

Zillow Group’s decision to cancel its homebuying program came as some brokers bemoaned the online real estate marketplace’s influence on the South Florida housing market. Seattle-based Zillow (Nasdaq: ZG) launched Zillow Offers in South Florida two years ago amid a national rollout of its iBuying program, which put the technology company in the business of buying, renovating and selling houses. In October, it announced it would pause deals through Zillow Offers in the tri-county area and beyond because of a backlog of home renovations needed before selling the properties.
