The electric-vehicle start-up Fisker reported unsurprising second-quarter numbers Thursday evening, and the stock is doing nothing in early Friday trading. What happened earlier on Thursday mattered much more for the stock.

Fisker (ticker: FSR) reported a loss of 16 cents a share, which was better than the 24 cents Wall Street expected. The figures don’t matter, though, because Fisker still doesn’t have sales.
